Animal migration essay

Animal migration. It is the most common form of migration in ecology. It is found in all major animal groups, including birds, mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, insects, and crustaceans. The trigger for the migration may be local climate, local availability of food, the season of the year or for mating reasons.

The migrants span the animal kingdom, from whales and warblers to dragonflies and salamanders. But is migration an endangered phenomenon? Around the world, many of the most spectacular migrations have either disappeared due to human activities or are in steep decline.

Animals migrate for many reasons, some of them being, to find food, a new home, or to breed. As it becomes warmer the biological cycles of many animals shift, such as, frogs, butterflies, birds and other amphibians.
